URGENT: Kenny and Ricky need your help!
Some months ago 7 year old Ricky was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy – ALD.
ALD is a deadly genetic disease. It most severely affects boys an men. This brain disorder destroys myelin, the protective sheath that surrounds the brain’s neurons – the nerve cells that allow us to think and to control our muscles. Now it also hits his twin 7 year old brother Kenny.
Both boys developed normal until there was a change in their behavior and attitude.
They have problems to concentrate, are restless and the grades in school go down.
Their physical symptoms are drastic now … they can become blind or deaf and they have signs of paralyses.
Without a therapy the kids can become seriuosly disabled and need 100% care all the time. This horrible disease is incurable if left untreated!
But we want to prevent this … with physical and ergo therapy to relax the muscles.
An additional medication can help to eliminate the pain or muscle cramps.
To abort the disease or to keep it under control there is the possibility of “stem cell transplantation”!
The effect of this will come up months later as long as there is no brain damage so far.
KENNY NEEDS A STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION before his nerve system is destroyed and WE NEED A STEM CELL DONATOR for him!
